Social bridge players SERIOUSLY have fun!

Hi, my name is Denise Dodd and I’m a dedicated Bridge Coach who has been teaching for sixteen years and playing for almost thirty.

I love the challenge of teaching, of seeing students blossom as they learn a new skill.  My aim is to create a relaxed and friendly environment – a place where people can meet and learn in a stress-free atmosphere.  Life is stressful enough. “Social” is an important part of all my bridge sessions.

Over the years I have taken many Bridge players and their partners (as well as “non-playing” partners) on successful bridge holidays to many resorts in SE Queensland as well as several cruises around the South Pacific.  I believe the reason these tours have been so successful is that whilst people are sometimes reluctant to travel on their own, they are more than happy to be part of a group where there is a common interest.

I am branching out to SE Asia and China this year and I invite you to have a look at what I am offering.  You do not have to be a bridge player to be part of the group.  The main focus is on a relaxing social trip, plus sightseeing and shopping.

Physical fitness was very important when I was growing up.  Now “Mental Fitness” is just as important as we move into the next phase of our lives.  Bridge is one of the best ways to practice the “use it or lose it” advice for maintaining mental sharpness. Medical Research shows that regular bridge playing improves reasoning skills and long and short term memory. Bridge is, and continues to be, an important training tool for the brain.

Bridge will never bore you. The game can be exciting, challenging, frustrating and humbling, but it will never be boring.  There are billions of possible bridge hands (you’ll never see the same hand twice!) so there is something new on every deal.  Each bridge hand takes just five to ten minutes to play before you move on to the next, so there are endless possibilities.

If you haven’t played before, this is the time to start. If you already play bridge and need to reconnect, this is the site!

Don’t worry if you don’t have a partner, arranging partners is part of the service.  If you haven’t played for a while and feel out of it, supervised play will get you back into it. If you’re a complete beginner, don’t worry, you won’t get arrested, you won’t go to jail! Bridge is just a game of cards.

Without further ado, I invite you to go forth and explore the links of my site to find out more about me, my classes and the wonderful world of Bridge.
